My-Garden-World Blog

Hello, my name is Marvin White although I prefer to be called by my nickname-”Poppy”.  I created My-Garden-World in the hopes of being able to provide an interactive community of gardeners.  The goal of My-Garden-World is to enhance the enjoyment of gardening through the knowledge and experiences gained from participating in our web site.

I am not a horticulturist nor an expert.  But I do have over 50 years of experience with many elements associated with gardening.  Some of those elements being probagation (of shrubs, annuals, and perennials), landscape design and installation.  And one of my favorites- vegetable gardening.

I was raised on a farm where I learned to appreciate nature and all of the joys of watching it at work.  Our family depended on what we could grow to support a family of nine children!  Though it wasn’t easy, farming (gardening) gave a rich sense of accomplishment.

Once I left home, at a rich age of seventeen, my gardening skills and desire came with me. Anytime my wife of 46 years and I had the space, landscaping and a vegetable garden was a must.

Certainly I don’t know all I would like to.  Hopefully, those that contribute with their posts and comments to our blog can share their knowledge and experiences with us.  We will all be much richer in knowledge and enjoyment of our garden(s).
