Mother’s Day is just around the corner! The bugs and diseases are coming! A Healthy Mind, Body, and Spirit In my last post, we discussed how gardening contributes to a healthy mind. Of how gardening repositions my thought process. Focusing on my difficulties has moved from the “forefront” (conscious) to the “back” (subconscious) of my mind. My conscious mind is now requiring less energy by focusing on mundane [...] The Three Facets of Health Being healthy is not just having a healthy body. Being healthy includes having a healthy mind, healthy body, and a healthy spirit. It takes all three to be a truly healthy person. Gardening fosters all three. This is my personal experience. Thank you for your compliments on this blog- “Fall Gardening Tips” and “Christmas Cactus Care”. Sometimes I feel like there is no one out there, then comes a comment or two, like yours, that lifts my spirits. It makes it all worth it. A Different Twist Here is something I found on You Tube that you might enjoy. Do you have a mental block when it comes to taking on a landscape project? Don’t know where to start, theme, lay out, plants to use, or traffic? I forgot to include a picture of my Christmas in my last post. Here it is: The Christmas Cactus makes a great holiday plant to admire during the Christmas season. Or should I say Thanksgiving season? That is just one of the mysteries of it. In reality, the Christmas Cactus can bloom anytime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. In my last post, I had some decisions to make: Pull up expended plants by the roots and toss into the compost pile, or “Plow under” expended plants to replenish the soil? |
